donor impact reporting

RBM-informed impact reports that show exactly what your investments have made possible. To share with major donors, corporates, or foundations.

Perfect fit for: organizations that need to report to sophisticated funders, not just tick a box.

In 2016, I managed the production of the global report, Small Voices, Big Dreams. This included research, copywriting, design and dissemination across the 60+ countries of the ChildFund Alliance. - BB

Your impact report shouldn't just be a list of activities.

Your funders contributed because they believed something was possible. Your donors sponsored a child, funded a well, or gave to an emergency appeal. They deserve to know what actually changed.

Most impact reports describe what happened. The best ones prove it. There's a difference between "we distributed 500 hygiene kits" and "500 teenage girls are now able to attend school year-round."

Whether you're reporting to ESG funders, corporate partners, or grant-makers, the standard should be the same: Evidence, not nice words.

In practice

As Project Manager, Operations at Christian Children's Fund, Bonar identified a critical gap between program results and major donor communications. Field teams were generating real outcomes, but those weren't reaching donors in a meaningful way. He designed and implemented the SEED project process, built RBM capacity across the organization, developed reporting templates, and created a system for communicating program results to donors with clarity and credibility.

"Bonar has a special gift to see the possibilities in complex concepts, and develop excellent creative that effectively transforms them into tangible opportunities."

— Tim Mowers, former Director of Major and Planned Giving at Christian Children's Fund of Canada

What types of reports?

Annual impact reports, program strategy and theory of change frameworks, ESG and social impact reports, emergency appeal results, funder and grant reporting, program outcome summaries, infographics and data visualizations.

How much will an impact report cost?

Impact reporting engagements are scoped per project. A standalone infographic or donor update sits at the lower end. A full annual impact report with data visualization, copywriting and design is a more substantial project. Most projects fall between $2,000 and $8,000 CAD depending on scope and complexity.
